Tutus and tiaras...♥♥♥
The diamond jubilee was a big exuse for stuffing out faces with cake, partying and disfiguring the streets in union jack bunting. And, in my case, dressing up. My outfit...
A longish, dip hem tunic top beneth a scarlet lambs wool cardi pinned with navy bows and white ribbons. A shrunken white tutu blooms outwards from underneath. My legs are sheathed in red opaques and my feet in simple, boots, laced with white lace for the occasion. My lips are bright red, my hair bundled up in a curly mess and topped with a tiny, plastic tiara beset with fake blue gems. In my hand, a union jack.

What to wear to france...♥♥♥
So. A lucky seven weeks until my class and I invade France!
Three days, without parents, roaming free in the land of escarots et parissians. Unfortunately, it is before my birthday, so I will not be gracing the natives with offers of their style appearing on this blog, as I will STILL not be in possesion of a camera. Not this time, at least. And its not Paris. Its some tiny village somewhere, not a hotspot for Parisians.
But hey! They will still be french. Its like saying, I'm not from London, so I won't have enough style to wave a stick at! UNTRUE. I am currently saving for a Cambridge Satchel. Period.
Anyhow, me and my equally fobsessed (fashion obsessed) friend have figured out exactly what we will need to purchase to appear more frenchy in frog land...
1. A breton top...Flatteringly below the collar bones, figure-skimming and paired with crimson lips. Following onto a...
3. A beret...Of course. Sitting smugly ontop of my gingery ringletts, studded with maybe a few buttons or crap so I don't look too serious.
4. A bike... A rusty, thin, breakable looking thing, not one of those shiny sturdy ones. We are talking about one that would not look out of place in Madeline, with a baguette poking out of the weaven basket.
5. A moustache necklace... So I could perch it on my upper lip.
6. Black skinnies... They just go with the breton top. And I grew out of my last pair.
7. A adorable dog, preferabbly one of those fluffy, tiny, white things, or a poodle...Yeah. Her idea, not mine.
8. A beige mac... Don't they all have one of these? I'm not sure, I could be wrong. But wearing one with red lipstick and a poodle in tow FEELS SO RIGHT!
9. Ballet flats... French are ballet people, right. Odette is a French name, after all.

Romwe.com collars unite...♥♥♥
Collars are...tricky. Peter pans have been seen so often stuck onto tops like the designer hasn't even thought about it that the sight of them makes me bristle. But ATTACHABLE, EBELLISHED collars, beset with lace trimming and little jewels and sequins and studs...

Now thats what I'm Talking about. Romwe. com is the go to for this. Searching through their archives, I can just see the outfits I can jazz up with the aid of one of these beauties. A lace one with ripped shorts and eyeliner. A studded number with a tea dress and ballet flats. Mother may I!

Dip hem skirt RELIVED...♥♥♥
Dip hem skirt RELIVED... by sw11rl featuring a matte lipstick
Recently, I have been loving the dip hem trend. I heard somewhere that they were going to be big in S/S, in Winter, but it being grey, miserable, cold England in January, wearing such a chiffony, flimy type thing seemed a bit....unbelievable. I was scoffing over my toast. But, now, in this equally unbelivable heat, the brush of chiffon against bare legs, teamed with metallic sandals and graphic tees, seems very desirable. So I retreated to Rowme.com, who has seerved me well fashion wise in the past. This skirt is the very one that shoulld be arriving at my door any time now.

So, lately, I have been seriously lusting over going away.
Anywhere. Just away, favourably somewhere hot, with scorching white sands and turquoise seas. I tell my mate Leila this, but, being someone who is very happy in her hometown 24/7, she advised me to see the school nurse. I am very lucky to be going on 3 breaks this year...
1. To Devon for a few days to see family friends. The annual visits usually involve their two boys surfing the icy English waves in wetsuits and me and my sister shivering in our tankinis.
2. A school trip to somewhere in France, to visit a snail farm, a aqaurium, a water park and a traditional bakery to make pain au chocolats. Yayyy.
3. SPAIN!!! YES!!! Three days in Barcelona, then a week in some seaside place! CAN'T WAIT!!!
But what I really want is a FESTIVAL to go to. I used to go to Womad every year, as my papa has a hippy clohing shop and had a stall there. Six years old, I wore some battered fairy wings, glitter on my cheeks, and jelly shoes. Then, I was DA BIZ. Now, I'm not so sure. Fairy wings...sure! But jelly shoes on my growing size sevens? I don't think so!
What I REALLY wanted to go to was The Secret Garden Party. Its free, I inisted to my parents. Its cool and cute and everyone is talking about it! I twisted a quote from a magazine. So my mum looked on the website. Visions of printed skirts, Hunter wellies, neon face paint and Indian bangles clouded my brain. BUT ALAS!!!
The tickets are run out.

Illustrated People are my type of people...♥♥♥
Recently, attracted by my sale radar, Illustrated people has been added to my mental wishlist. Yes, the whole shop. All the products. They are not that different- mostly grey or black or white graphic print tees- but boy, are they the nicest of their kind you will find. I am currently lusting over the grey triangle print crop top that will prove eternitally versitile when I layer it over some crazy print dress or just slap it above jeans and lace ups, and that I also cannot find a picture for....

Nice aren't they? Pretty much the ultimate festival top you can get your mitts on, me thinks.

Nina Ricci A/W 2012/2013...♥♥♥
Looking through the Vogue Catwalk videos, I was completly hooked by Nina Ricci's latest. Inspired by -I quote from here-
'a young girl who discovered and explored the wardrobes of her mother, grandmother and past generations of her family'
Okay, it A/W 2012/2013, but there are DEFINITE nods to the textures and 20s swing of todays fashions. The music (With just one glance-Nicholas Jaar) is somehow haunting beside the tweed, detailing, and intresting, quirky proportions that reminds us we are in modern day, and also of the theme- a little girl trying on beautiful clothes with a history that swamp her. She is the luckiest girl I know!

Spring was supposed to be here...♥♥♥
Lately, what with the rain and gloom, and the long three weeks left until the break of, I think everyone has kind of shied away from any fashion evidence of springtime. Shied away under umbrellas, tired faces, groans and bad postures. There are only a few things (fashion wise) that can be done to cure this...

Florals!!! Yes!!! Pretty, graphic type ones that, if you spotted them on your way to work/school/ wherever, you would sniff them gingerly without sneezing, and think of them when rain floods your shoes or the coffee machine dies, and smile at the sweet memory...One of my favourite eye candy blogs ▲▲Lacing up▲▲, has some great examples of outfits.

Fashion field trip...Ballgowns at da V&A.. ♥♥♥
I am currently lusting over a certain exhibition I saw featured in some magazine of my mothers. Ballgowns: British Glamour since 1950, at the Victoria and Albert Mueseum, V&A to its mates. It feautres dresses worn by royalty and stiched by the best. I think a good example is this beauty by Erdem...
The V&A has been a friend to me in the past when we have gone culture hunting. When I say we, I mean me and my mum. My dad is far too lazy, my sister nine years old and much more into Moshi Monsters than Vivienne Westwood dresses. Reasons why I ♥ the V&A...
1.The giant glass bouble in the entrance never ceases to amaze me.
2. I am often so flubbergasted by the BLATANT GORGEOUSNESS of the cafe I often forget about my prawn and lemon mayo baguette (oh lala indeed) and ginger beer.
3. It attracts some arty types, and is a central for people watchers while you are pretending to take in Balinese Etchings.
4. The gift shop. I ADORE gift shops. Last time, I brought the cutest little pocket mirror, my mum a print, and got a FABULOUS plastic bag printed with all thesse vintage type flowers which I use for P.E...
5. I also feel admittedly cultured and arty when my fellow classmates ask what the V&A is. I answer all loftily, ''Oh, just this gallery. You should check out the *apply lastest exhibition*''
6. There are all these cute little tea shops around there, if you are STILL hungry after the delicacies on offer in the V&A.
So, for a fashion field trip to culture yourself in lovely dresses, high standard people watching and yummy baguettes, tis DA Place to be seen
